Die Cutting Heat Embossing Favorite Color

Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe challenge

This card is the last to be entered into the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I choose Heat embossing, Die cutting, and favorite color.  The butterfly and sentiment were embossed with versa fine black onyx ink and colored with Copic and spectrum Noir markers. When the coloring was completed, I applied clear wink of Stella to the butterfly. My favorite color is pink and The butterfly was die cut.

The butterfly was colored with Copic markers:  pink (RV11) and dark pink (RV34) and Spectrum Noir PL1.  To give my butterfly some dimension,  I put foam squares under the wings.  It has been fun creating cards for this challenge and can't wait for the next Hero Arts Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate the comments.

Flowers in a vase

I have had this stamp in my stash for a very long time and I think that this is only the second time that I have used it.    Anyway, I thought that these flowers and vase were perfect for water coloring and I an entering this card in the Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe challenge.  For this card I choose:  Water color, Birthday theme, and heat embossing.  I embossed the image with versa fine black onyx in with  clear embossing powder.  Then I water colored the image using my Zig real brush markers.   The birthday sentiment was also embossed using the black onyx ink and clear embossing powder.   I am just beginning to work with water colors and find that I am enjoying it.

Thanks for stopping by and I do appreciate the comments.

Three Simple Flowers

For this card I choose the Lattice background stamp, a birthday sentiment, and die cut inked flowers for the Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I don't have a lot of  the new Hero Arts stamps, so I used what I have available.   I inked the matt paper and the fancy circle die with Hero Arts Cornflower mid-tone ink so  the flowers, background and the sentiment would match.  I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers to give a bit of a shimmer.
Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate the comments.

Tic Tac Toe: Circles, Birthday, and Favorite color

This card was an inspiration from a Kleenex box.  The box has large, medium, and small dotted circles with tiny flowers between the circles.  I really don't have a particular favorite color, but I do like the HA mid and soft tone pinks.  For this card I chose circles, Birthday theme, and favorite color.  To give my card some bling, I added wink of stella to the flowers and also some tine clear gems.

Hero Arts Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge

Hero Arts Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I can't believe that It has been over two years since I posted to my blog.  (This sounds like a confession.)  I decided to take a long needed break from blogging and time just got away from me.  I wanted to divide my time with other crafts and not just to making cards.  Now I am back in the swing of making cards again and just realized that I really missed making cards.  I have been keeping up with the world of card making, just not making many cards.

This card is for the current Hero Arts Challenge; Tic, tac, toe challenge and picked stencil, birthday theme, and tag.  I colored the poppy with faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens:  Permanent green Olive #167 and Pale geranium Lake #121 and then went over the flower with a clear Wink of Stellar pen.  The background that I used is from the Hero Arts Stencil Boarders (SA003).

Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate the comments.

Black and White Cards (My Favorite)

Wow!!  Once again I have taken forever to post cards.  Lately it seems that I am not very consistent in my posting.  It seems like things keep getting in the way of my posting; or I should say I have not been motivated in making cards.  But, I am trying to put that to an end.
Yesterday, April 6, 2013, I decided to take part in the 90 minute challenge that was hosted on the Hero Arts Flickr group.  The theme was to make a all white card, or to use black, white, gray, and/or silver or any of these combinations.  I choose black and white.  Well, to make a long story short, I decided to make another black and white after the challenge was finished.
The card that I entered in the quickcard57 challenge is the second one on this post.  This first card is entered into the Hero Arts Flickr group current challenge.  I used the sketch provided for this particular card.  I love making black and white cards and I especially love to use flowers as my focal image.  I think that these type of cards are very elegant and I love the clean and simple.

Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2 Homework Day 10

I have been enjoying the Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2 class for the past two weeks.  (I am sad that it has come to an end.)  This is an online class that is being taught by Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner, and Julie Ebersole.  The homework assignment for Day 10 (last day of the class) is to “Grab a stamp and try using it three different ways”.  The stamp that I used comes from Hero Arts stamp set “Valentine Sayings (3 images) CG156 (discontinued as far as I know). [To see the picture of the stamp set, please see below this post.] This set includes two cupcake stamps and the sentiment.  I used the sentiment stamp from the set.  Instead of making 3 cards for the homework, I made 4; three cards using the sentiment and 1 card using one of the cupcakes.
For this card, I masked over the hearts and outline image of the stamp so that I would only stamp the words.  I stamped the word Day by itself onto the heart.
For my second card I cut out two hearts out of pattern paper and adhered them in place of the original stamped hearts.
For my third card I omitted the hearts that were originally included on the stamp and left the sentiment plain.
This stamped image on this card comes from the same stamp set.  The sentiment is another Hero Arts Stamp "Valentine's Day Message C2967 (discontinued).  (I masked off the word Day.)
Thanks for stopping by; I appreciate the comments.
