Valentine Cards

Wow!! I am having a hard time believing that I haven’t posted anything in the last 3 months. Let me briefly say that I have been busy with family. November was very busy for my husband and me as we spent most of it in Ohio helping our daughter. We became the proud grandparents (4th grandchild) of a healthy baby girl and we watched our grandson while his mother and new baby sister were in the hospital. December was busy with shopping for Christmas gifts and going back to Ohio to spend Christmas with both of our daughters and their families. I spent the whole month of January 2013 trying to get back to a normal routine and I was experiencing burnout and needless to say, my mojo was gone. So, to get my mojo back I decided that I needed to take the On Line Card Class: “Clean and Simple Cardmaking 2”.

Here are some of the cards that I made this week.
I made this card for the Clean and simple cards 2 class (Day 6).  I  used a technique called "patch work stamping" that Jennifer McGuire showed in her video.  But, I used 2 colors instead of 4.  The color ink that I used are Pale Tomato and Soft Cantaloupe by Hero Arts.
Hero Arts Stamps:  Everyday Sayings CL342, Banner Pendent DI074 (The banner Pendent stamp set is made by hero arts for Archivers), Antique Flowers & butterflies 657773, Lattice 331065
I used the  Hero Arts Sketch challenge for the current challenge.  Hero Arts Stamps:  Four Leaf Grid S5141, Antique Brocade CG102, and Fancy Love A1295 (discontinued).
Hero Arts Stamps Hugs & Kisses Birds CG155 (I think that this stamp set is discontinued).  I wanted this card to look like a chalkboard so I used black cardstock and white embossed the image and sentiment.  This  is an inspiration from Kristina Werner.  She made a card using the chalkboard effect on Day 4 of the
Clean and Simple card 2 class.

Thanks for stopping by;  I do appreciate the comments.  Have a wonderful weekend.

It is SO hard to get going again after such a long break, Sue! What a great idea to take this class to get into it again! Looks to me like you're back to normal again! Love that last one especially!

Beautiful cards, Sue! Family time is much more important than blogging - glad you could be there to help your daughter and again to visit during the holidays.

Welcome back Sue and congrats on being a grandma again!!!! I always find it hard to get back into the swing of creating after a break- you were smart to take that class for inspiration! Love all three cards! The little faux blackboard is especially sweet !
