Returning To My Blog

I made the "Get Well Soon" card for my friends sister.
This get well card was an inspiration from Kristina Werner who makes the Finally Friday videos on two peas in a bucket. I have the flower stamps that she used, but
I used paper that I had on hand. The picture of the five cards, I made for the Cards for Kate drive that is being hosted by Jennifer McGuire (she is a card/scrapbook artist for Hero Arts). The layout for the Cards for Kate drive was inspired by my daughter Pam. I basically used her idea but used my own stamps. Thanks Pam for your inspirations. The "Thanks" card is a card that I made this past weekend and entered it in the photocard contest to Hero Arts.
I can't believe that I am actually adding to my blog. I created this blog in April 2009 with help from my daughter Pam. I guess the reason that I didn't do anything with this blog is that I thought that I would mess up and not know what to do if I did. So, I got to thinking about messing up and decided that I was being silly. So what if I mess up, I can always correct my mistakes with some help. I probably will get frustrated in trying to figure out how to do something and it will most likely take me a while to get things the way I want them to appear on my blog but, I will eventually finish what I am doing.

I kept making excuses for why I wasn't putting anything up on my blog. My number one excuse was that I didn't have time to update my blog. So, after all these months since creating this blog, I have finally decided to get out of limbo. Now, the time has come to start posting to my blog. My main reason for posting is because 2 or 3 nights ago I decided to enter a card/scrapbooking contest on the Hero Arts Blog. (I usually never enter contest because I don't really like to compete and sometimes the idea of competing makes me feel intimiadated.) But, in order to post to Hero Arts, I had to subscribe to Flickr and join the hero arts flickr group. (Anyway, that is how I undersand it.)

The challenge was to make a card with using any photograph and at least one hero arts stamp. I came up with the card and after slaving over the card, I finally got it finished to my satisfaction. That was the easy part. The hard part was trying to figure out how to upload my card to Hero Arts. It took me most of last evening to upload my project and it probably should of only taken a few minutes for the average person. I did get very frustrated and there for awhile I was about to give up and forget the whole thing. But, I calmed myself down and told myself that I did not make that card for nothing and that I was not going to give up. I wasn't sure if the card actually got uploaded so I looked on the Hero Arts web site and I finally found my card that I had uploaded. After I found my card there was a sense of relief and all of my frustrations went away. I know I made lots of mistakes while trying to upload, but I guess that I learn from my mistakes. I still can't figure out what I did to make this process of uploading so complicated.
I guess that I have rambled on long enough. Until next time--so long.

The Last Page to Pam and Jeremy's wedding album

This is the last page to Pam and Jeremy's wedding album. I can't believe that I have finally finished this album. I used the same format on this page as I did in the four pages that I posted almost two weeks ago. (The format is a pagemap sketch.)

Thank You Bird Card

This card is an inspiration by Lisa Spangler, one of many artist from Hero Arts. This is my version of her card. I did not have all the stamps that she used, so I used stamps that are similar.

The items that were used are as follows: Stampin Up stamps--"bird" from the Good Friend set; "Thank You" from the Noteworthy Set. Hero Arts Stamps--Raindrop background stamp, Tiny Jubillee Dots from the Jubillee Dots set. Cuddlebug Embossing folder--Spots and Dots. Pink Ribbon, 2 pieces (1 1/2" x 4 1/4") white cardstock, 1 1/4" oval to punch out the words thank you.

cards and layouts

These four layouts were inspired by Pagemaps. The layouts that I used came from the June 2007 pagemap sketches. These layouts are from my Daughter's Wedding in 2000. I actually started this album over a year ago and I finally finished working on her album two days ago.
